appreciation, and acceptance of our wildlife in order to conserve it. To
co-exist and protect each other, our natural surroundings, and all the
inhabitants of our earth by education & example. To promote quality
care and medical attention for debilitated wildlife in a professional
hospital setting, with the goal of increasing successful wildlife
releases.
What is Wildlife
Rehabilitation?
Wildlife Rehabilitation is
caring for sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife with the ultimate goal of
release. It is performed by people who are licensed, tested and trained to
care for wild creatures.
Our Goals
Messinger Woods is
dedicated to funding a hospital and treatment facility strictly for
wildlife rehabilitation and establishing an educational center for the
benefit of all.
Progress
The idea of Messinger Woods
first began in September 1996. Since then, the following has been
achieved:
- Membership has grown to over 1000 supporting individuals
.
Messinger Woods
has gained the support of famed wildlife expert Jim Fowler of Mutual
Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.
Over 60 acres of biodiverse habitat has been donated to Messinger
Woods.
In-kind donations have reduced project cost from a quarter million
to approximately $150,000.
Messinger Woods has already received the
remaining cash required to complete the project and the hospital has
been built.

You Can Help!
Thousands of
wild animals are helped annually across Western New York. Currently,
most of these animals are cared for in the private homes of individual
wildlife rehabilitators. Please join us in helping to build this
needed wildlife hospital. Become a part of this exciting and
beneficial project. All donations are tax deductible!
